Monarch

Monarch holds her place in history for being the first ever major cruise ship to have a women captain at the helm. Swedish born Karin Stahre Janson took charge in 2007 but has since been joined by a host of other female captains for other operators. At the time she was launched, in 1991, Monarch was one of the largest ships in the world.

On each vessel there will be the chance to dine in formal surroundings or more casually, and you can decide to eat in restaurants that stick to regimented seating times or come and go as you please in the many buffet areas. Most of our ships provide the option to eat outside if you wish; meaning you can make the most of those balmy evenings and never miss a drop of the glorious sunshine.
