REQUIREMENTS FOR EMBARKATION

  • Ιt is required a negative antigen or molecular COVID-19 test done 48 hours before the cruise. The certificate must be the original copy and it must be written in English, Italian, Spanish, French or German (other languages will not be accepted). It may also be presented in paper or electronic format or Proof of vaccination at least 2 week prior the departure. The certificate is valid for 6 months since the last vaccination.

  • Passengers 2-11 years old need to present a negative PCR test 48 hours before the cruise.
  • Due to the COVID-19 pandemic that the world is still facing , MSC will extend the MSC Covid-19 Protection Plan will be extended to all the departures of Winter 2021-2022 until April 30th 2022.

    Effective immediately, before finalizing the reservation, it will be possible to add to the cruise the MSC COVID-19 Protection plan at the price of 25 euros per person for Mediterranean and Northern Europe cruises, and €29 for Caribbean cruises, Saudi Arabia, Red Sea and Grand Voyages cruises.

    During a cruise, passengers may be exposed to specific COVID-19 risks that may not be usually covered by existing insurance policies. It is therefore mandatory for all guests to have in place an insurance policy that specifically covers them against COVID-19 related risks, such as cancellation, interruption, repatriation expenses, quarantine, medical assistance and related expenses, as well as hospitalization. This should be in place for to cover them from the confirmation of their booking until the end of the cruise or their cruise and flight package.

    MSC offers a COVID Protection Plan for all Summer 21 and Winter 21/22 cruises - an insurance policy specifically for these COVID-19 risks and this can be added to the cruise whilst making the booking. Alternatively, passengers may purchase another insurance coverage provided that the above risks are covered.

    With immediate effect, for all new reservations on cruises sailing from 27 June 2021 , passengers will be required to provide evidence of their insurance policy and this should include the details of the insurer, the insured amounts and full details of the COVID-19  coverage such as cancellation, interruption, repatriation expenses, quarantine, medical assistance and expenses, and hospitalization.

    The proof of the insurance policy (e.g. certificate, schedule, policy summary) which  must be in English, Italian, German, French or Spanish - clearly showing the COVID-19  coverage - clearly showing the COVID-19  coverage - must be presented at embarkation. Passengers failing to provide this documentation will be denied boarding.
  • Guests are required to complete the dedicated digital Passenger Locator Form (dPLF) before entering Italy.  Passengers without PLF in their hands run the risk not to embark since they can be blocked at any check point before entering Italy .

Guests can go ashore. Some excursions may require an official COVID certificate (e.g. EU Digital COVID certificate) to access some tourist venues such a museums or churches.

East Mediterranean

For passengers over 12 years old - A proof of a negative PCR or Antigen (rapid) test is required within 48 hours from embarkation. Passengers must be fully vaccinated or must have a Covid recovery certificate up to 6 months from their recovery.

For passengers from 2-11 years old - A proof of a negative PCR or Antigen (rapid) test is required within 48 hours from embarkation.

Fully vaccinated passengers are considered those who have received the third dose from EU approved vaccines or until 9 months from their second vaccination.

Guests can go ashore. Some excursions may require an official COVID certificate (e.g. EU Digital COVID certificate) to access some tourist venues such a museums or churches.

In addition, a PCR test will be required upon arrival in Israel and will have to wait for the result of the PCR and then can proceed to the cruise terminal.   

Caribbean

For passengers over 12 years old - A proof of a negative PCR test is required within 48 hours from embarkation. Passengers must be fully vaccinated or must have a Covid recovery certificate up to 6 months from their recovery.

For passengers from 2-11 years old - A proof of a negative PCR test is required within 48 hours from embarkation.

Fully vaccinated passengers are considered those who have received the third dose from EU approved vaccines or until 9 months from their second vaccination.

Guests can go ashore. Some excursions may require an official COVID certificate (e.g. EU Digital COVID certificate) to access some tourist venues such a museums or churches. Guests who travel with unvaccinated children need to book a MSC excursion in order to go ashore.

Northern Europe

For passengers over 12 years old - A proof of a negative PCR test is required within 48 hours from embarkation. Passengers must be fully vaccinated or must have a Covid recovery certificate up to 6 months from their recovery.

For passengers from 2-11 years old - A proof of a negative PCR test is required within 48 hours from embarkation.

 Red Sea/Saudi Arabia

For passengers over 12 years old - A proof of a negative PCR test is required within 48 hours from embarkation. Passengers must be fully vaccinated or must have a Covid recovery certificate up to 6 months from their recovery.

For passengers from 2-11 years old - A proof of a negative PCR test is required within 48 hours from embarkation.

Fully vaccinated passengers are considered those who have received the third dose from EU approved vaccines or until 8 months from their second vaccination.

Guests can go ashore. Some excursions may require an official COVID certificate (e.g. EU Digital COVID certificate) to access some tourist venues such a museums or churches. Guests who travel with unvaccinated children need to book a MSC excursion in order to go ashore.

United Arab Emirates

For passengers over 12 years old - A proof of a negative PCR test is required within 48 hours from embarkation. Passengers must be fully vaccinated or must have a Covid recovery certificate up to 6 months from their recovery.

For passengers from 2-11 years old - A proof of a negative PCR test is required within 48 hours from embarkation.

Fully vaccinated passengers are considered those who have received the third dose from EU approved vaccines or until 8 months from their second vaccination.

Guests can go ashore. Some excursions may require an official COVID certificate (e.g. EU Digital COVID certificate) to access some tourist venues such a museums or churches. At the port of Doha passengers need to book a MSC excursion in order to go ashore.

 

  • In order to complete the booking, and according to the company policy, it is necessary for you to provide full details of all participants (Full Name, Date and Place of Birth) as they are shown on your Passport(s)/ID(s) (depending on the cruise type you have selected). It is also necessary to provide an Emergency Contact (friend or relative) and full contact details (Full name, Phone Number Mobile/Landline) of this person.
  • A valid passport is required for this cruise and visa (please check for Visa).
  • In order to confirm a booking a 20% deposit is require of the booking total. Balance must be paid 30 days prior to departure date. For the World Cruise, full payment is required no later than 60 days prior to departure. Any booking made in the period of less than 30 days full payment of the booking is required.
  • You are responsible for obtaining all necessary travel documents and for complying with Customs and Immigration requirements. Guest without proper travel documents will not be allowed to board the vessel and no refund of cruise fare will be given to any guest failing to bring such documentation.
  • In order to avoid problems at departure, we kindly ask you to carefully check the validity of your documents and to be in possession of what is required for the cruise. If any guest does not possess the required documentation they will be denied boarding their flight/cruise and cancellation penalties will be applied.

 

Hotel Service Charge  

During your cruise you will meet staff throughout the ship who provide you with excellent service . They are supported by just as many staff and crew who work hard behind the scenes to ensure you enjoy every moment onboard. The hotel service charge is mandatory and integral part of the price. The charge per person can be paid onboard at the end of the cruise or prepaid at at the time of booking. Service charges do not apply to children under 2 years of age old at the time of the cruise departure date.
